MEET THE SHUTTERBUGS

 ALBERTO, CREATIVE DIRECTOR & PHOTOGRAPHER

Bringing over a decade's experience in photography with a unique eye for the unexpected, Alberto shoots with a personal approach and natural ability for putting people at ease on their special day. He is bi-lingual in English and Spanish, available for shoots in the New York City area as well as destination. When not busy shooting, Alberto can be found working on language #3 (German), searching for the perfect taco al pastor, and exploring the globe for inspiration - where he admittedly still spends time behind the lens. Alberto currently resides on Manhattan’s Upper West Side with his wife and partner in crime, Lauren.

1. Your wedding photography style in 5 words or less:

Photojournalistic, creative, fun, romantic, natural

2. Favorite part of the wedding day to photograph:

I love capturing both the bride and groom getting ready, photographing details, portraits, and especially candid moments with each person’s closest friends and family. I also love the 1st look shots - a great time to get creative with the bride and groom to capture stunning, editorial-style (and fun!) shots.

3. Favorite/craziest wedding moment you’ve captured:

I had such a blast shooting a recent wedding in Jamaica. Can’t go wrong with the combination of an amazing couple and spectacular scenery!

4. If you could shoot a wedding anywhere in the world, it would be:

The Italian countryside...although the Greek islands are a close second!

5. If I weren’t a photographer, I would be:

I would own a beach Taco/Bar somewhere on the Riviera Maya in Mexico. Salud!

Jakub, PHOTOGRAPHER

I second-shot my first wedding with my father when I was 6 years old. I wish I could find those negatives today, but I was told many of my images ended up in the album. About two decades and few cameras later, wedding and engagement photography is my life's passion. When I'm not working you can find me traveling the world (with my camera of course) or eating Chipotle. I am fluent in Polish but you can also catch me attempting a few sentences in Spanish.

1. Your wedding photography style in 5 words or less:

Elegant, modern, romantic. Candid when appropriate. Formal when not.

2. Favorite part of the wedding day to photograph:

I love photographing the Bride and Groom session as it allows for the most creativity and working closely with the couple to create some stunning images under my direction. During this time I am able to create, whereas the rest of the day I capture and document.

3. Favorite/craziest wedding moment you’ve captured:

Nothing ever beats the raw and authentic images full of emotion captured during a first look.

4. If you could shoot a wedding anywhere in the world, it would be:

Iceland or Norway for their dramatic landscapes, but I love travel and would love to photograph anywhere!

5. If I weren’t a photographer, I would be:

Working in the IT field, as that is a close second passion of mine.

Celeste, Photographer

I’ve been photographing for over 8 years between Spain and the United States. One of the clearest memories that I have from my childhood is my Mom with a camera. I remember her setting up the camera and then asking my Dad to hold it, so she could be in a nice photo with us. I love to spend time looking at those pictures - that’s probably the main reason why I love to create memories for other people. When not shooting you can generally find me spending time with friends and family, enjoying my self-described status as a shameless cat lady, or heading out on a camping adventure in the great outdoors.

1. Your wedding photography style in 5 words or less:

Photojournalism, natural, clean.

2. Favorite part of the wedding day to photograph:

Getting ready & portraits!

3. Favorite/craziest wedding moment you’ve captured:

Any Dad’s first look, I live them like my own.

4. If you could shoot a wedding anywhere in the world, it would be:

Any old and cozy town in Spain would be just perfect, but maybe a Indonesian temple would be my last answer!

5. If I weren’t a photographer, I would be:

A full-time traveler! Well…or floral artist.

LAUREN, PHOTOGRAPHER

I have been fortunate that my photography work has taken me to various parts of the world. I love to experience new cultures and capture moments, both large and small! Being a part of your special day is an honor and a responsibility that I take very seriously. That said, I also like for it to be fun! When not shooting, you can find me acting on stage or screen, reading a good book, catching up on old films, and doing yoga!

1. Your wedding photography style in 5 words or less:

Romantic, fun, photo-journalistic “documentary” approach.

2. Favorite part of the wedding day to photograph:

Sunset portraits with the couple (if possible). Taking a moment for the two of you to reconnect amidst the craziness of the day can be really special. I love using beautiful light to showcase the love between you!

3. Favorite/craziest wedding moment you’ve captured:

I once had a groom zipline down to the altar. That was fun. :)

4. If you could shoot a wedding anywhere in the world, it would be:

Paris, France. Très romantique, non?

5. If I weren’t a photographer, I would be:

Can you be a professional dog cuddler? I’d do that.

TAMARA, PHOTOGRAPHER

I began photographing professionally in 2009. I instantly fell in love with storytelling. I’m not fond of forced emotion but genuine, authentic sentiment. In a world that is crazed with having curated lives, I strive to go against the grain and capture moments that make me feel alive. I’m not about capturing the perfect Pinterest-worthy pin. I’m all about capturing you perfectly. I want to capture the fun moments, the silliness between you are your loved one, the sweet embraces, the crinkle in your nose when you laugh, the happy tears. I want to capture the real you! The unscripted moments. The once in a lifetime, you had to be there, I can’t wait to tell people moments. The perfectly imperfect moments.

Though based in the U.S., I’m a destination photographer. I travel often for clients & love seeing the world. When I’m not working, you can catch me at my local coffee shop or a local eatery.

1. Your wedding photography style in 5 words or less: Romantic, Editorial, Candid, Fresh + Authentic

2. Favorite part of the wedding day to photograph: I absolutely love capturing details. I find that the smallest details hold the greatest stories. Also, photographing the couple portraits. I love capturing the first portraits as husband & wife.

3. Favorite/craziest wedding moment you’ve captured: I adore capturing first looks. That private moment between the couple on their wedding day is to be cherished. I love when the groom sees his bride for the first time and is overcome with emotion.

4. If you could shoot a wedding anywhere in the world, it would be: It was always Paris, but I can officially cross that of the bucket list as I’ll be traveling to Paris document a wedding in August 2017. Next on my list are  the Haiku Mill in Maui, Hawaii + Redwood Forest. Though to be honest, seeing the world is my passion, so any location with a rad couple is up my alley.

5. If I weren’t a photographer, I would be: Travel & food blogger. This girl loves her some delicious cocktails, good food & awesome company.
